Our Story
In 1988 Jerry Fritz bought 20 acres in a rural area of Live Oak, planted about 15,000 trees and Sunco Trees was born. As an international certified arborist, he nurtured trees primarily for the trades: landscapers, builders, retail nurseries. When he retired in 2015 he sold the business.
Fast forward to December 2020. The nursery had been inactive for several years and was in need of some serious TLC. Our family had just moved to Live Oak with plans to start a container tree nursery, only to discover one not even two miles from our home.
It was a match made in heaven, so we named it Eden's Acres and filled it with tender loving care.
By January 2022 we realized the many acres of very large trees were more than we could handle on our own. We decided to go back to our original plan of growing smaller trees, and we now have moved our inventory around the corner on River Road. We still have the very large trees on our property at 20744 56th Street, but we are in the process of re-purposing the property for other uses. Thanks to all for your support through this journey!
